Quick answers
Communicator questions
Why move fire alarm signals off copper phone lines?
Many copper (POTS) phone lines are being retired or are getting harder to keep in service. A cellular or broadband communicator sends alarm signals without relying on a copper line.
Do I need a new fire alarm panel?
Usually not for the communicator. Alarm.com says it integrates with most existing fire systems through the phone-line connection or supervised relay outputs. We confirm compatibility with your panel.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The communicator has two paths: broadband and 4G LTE, with automatic selection between AT&T and Verizon.
Is monitoring included?
Monitoring is a separate service. TBM partners with National Monitoring Center for 24/7 monitoring. See Monitoring.
