Video verification & monitoring

When an alarm goes off, the operator can see what’s happening.

With Alarm.com Visual Verification, the monitoring station checks your cameras before deciding whether to dispatch. You choose which cameras it can use.

With two-way audio cameras, operators can talk to people on site. Proactive Remote Video Monitoring, where detected people or vehicles alert the station before an alarm, is also available on the platform. TBM’s monitoring partner is National Monitoring Center. Quick answers

Verification questions

What is video verification?

When your alarm goes off, the monitoring station reviews clips from before and after the alarm and watches live video from the cameras you approve, so it can decide whether to dispatch.

Can I choose which cameras the station sees?

Yes. In your Alarm.com account you select which devices are available for Visual Verification. Deselected cameras can’t be viewed by the station.

What if a camera goes offline?

Video health monitoring tells you when a camera stops recording or its view is blocked, so problems are found before you need the footage.

Is monitoring included?

Monitoring and video verification are separate services. TBM partners with National Monitoring Center for 24/7 monitoring, and what’s included depends on your plan.
